Dr. Gurvinder Singh Jammu, did his graduation (MBBS) in 1991 & Masters in Surgery (MS) from Dayanand Medical College & Hospital Ludhiana in 1995.He got trained in various hospitals in India and abroad.He joined as consultant Laparoscopic and General Surgeon in a multispecialty private hospital, Jalandhar. Though he qualified and cleared his selection as Class- I Medical Officer by Public Service Commission. But he chose to work & learn in a better environment and infrastructure.Soon he was spotted by one of the biggest hospital of Jalandhar as a promising young surgeon and was taken as consultant Laparoscopic Surgeon. By dint of his hard work and result he rose to the position of Head of Department of Surgery in one of the biggest hospital of Jalandhar. But as a prudent man seldom rests, he wanted to have latest infrastructure and state of art equipment for the advanced surgical procedures.So, he resigned from his post of HOD and opened Jammu Hospital in 2004, where he practiced most advanced surgeries. Apart from Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeries at Jammu Hospital, this hospital is a pioneer to perform Bariatric/Metabolic Surgeries in Punjab. Jammu Hospital started as 10 bedded hospital in 2000 at old building but with increasing popularity and good outcome prompted to shift the hospital in a new building with 100 beds.
